Papaya Salad: Thai Som Tam

Ingredients

shredded green papaya

shredded carrot

cherry tomatoes, halved

long beans, cut into 1-inch pieces

red chilies, chopped (adjust for spiciness)

garlic, minced

lime juice

fish sauce

tbsp
soy sauce

palm sugar or brown sugar

roasted peanuts

cup
dried shrimp (optional)
Toppings
Fresh cilantro and mint leaves for garnish
Instructions
Prepare the ingredients
Make the dressing in a small bowl
Combine the vegetables in a large mixing bowl
Toss with dressing
Add Peanuts and Shrimp
Transfer the salad to a serving plate. Garnish with fresh cilantro and mint leaves before serving.
Notes
Additional Tips:
Adjust the number of chilies according to your preferred level of spiciness.
For a vegetarian version, omit the fish sauce and dried shrimp, and replace with soy sauce.
If green papaya is not available, you can substitute it with cucumber or daikon radish for a similar texture.
