Nutmeg Bread Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter or coconut oil, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated pure cane sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground nutmeg.
  • In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, until well combined. Stir in the yogurt and vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the nutmeg bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
