We took a childhood favorite and gave it a grown-up makeover, added the wisdom of Ayurveda. The result is a seasonal treat to delight all ages.

You may be wondering why I am suggesting frozen foods when Vatas and Kaphas do not do well with cold foods. This becomes debatable in the summer as the pitta/fire weather sometimes calls for a cool-down.In the spirit of that- and to make it simple- I made one cup of rose, tulsi and mint teas for the pitta popsicles and another cup of rooibos and ginger tea for the Kapha/Vatas. The simple part is that I just used tea bags, that way you have more time to splash in the pool!

Pitta Popsicles

  • 16 oz coconut water
  • 1 Organic India Rose/Tulsi teabag
  • 1 Organic India Peppermint teabag
  • 2 tablespoons coconut sugar
  • ¼ cup kiwi
  • ½ lemon
  • ¼ cup blueberries

Add the tea bags to the boiling coconut water and let steep for 5 minutes. Allow to cool. Add all the ingredients to a blender. Blend till pureed and smooth. Add to popsicle molds. Freeze and give to your favorite Pitta person.

Kapha and Vata Popsicles

  • 16 oz water
  • 1 Rooibos teabag
  • 1 Ginger teabag
  • 2 tablespoons raw honey
  • ¼ cup strawberries and blueberries mixed
  • ¼ cup pineapple
  • ½ lemon- squeezed

Add the tea bags to the boiling water and let steep for 5 minutes. Allow to cool. Add all the ingredients to a blender. Blend till pureed and smooth. Add to popsicle molds. Freeze and give to your favorite Vata or Kapha person.
